Royal flush hit
May 29, 2008
Let’s say that I’ve played 100 hands today. I had no luck at all and all the IDIOTIC DONKEY CALLERS hit me with their bad beats very deep. I’ve played 4 tables on FTP and Carbon. I was so unlucky with my chosen hands, I could break down and cry :) For real. I mean, if I had a pretty strong hand which in my opinion AK suited is, I’ve lost. Also with 88 and other crap like J8. Aces? LOST! Agrrrhh!! I almost decided to separate myself from the poker table for a while :) After that losing time I went out to chill with my friends and relax my mind. When I came back to my apartment, I had to make myself something to eat. And there it goes! ;) While putting the pizza into the oven, I’ve lunched poker and started a cashgame. After my 3rd folded hand..

I know that this kind of play was pretty sick, but also pretty unexpected :) I’m talking about the guy who limped in with A 10 and flopped 2pair. He flopped 2pair. The maniac played a lot of hands so I wasn’t pretty sure what he had this time. He just called.. Well.. Ok. After the flop everybody checked to me. Usually the first one who bets, wins. Well I bet $4 into a pot worth $8. Half size bet.. a semi bluff to check where I’m at. 2 diamonds on the board, a 10 and an Ace. Hmm.. Not really a safe board but I said let’s fire the bullet and chase the flush, heh. The funniest thing happened on the turn. The king of diamonds appeared on the board. Well in that moment I was sure I’ve got them beat. I’ve made a half pot size bet again which was $16 this time. When I clicked the bet button, I smiled. I knew somehow that I’m gonna hit the fabulous royal flush :) Whoa! What’s on the river? A jack! A jack of diamonds! Wow! I’ve got you beat kids, I’m allin ;) Both players called my allin bet and I won a pot worth $264.00. :)
About the player that flopped 2 pair..
I’d like to say that the way he played his hand was just WRONG! Why? First of all you should bet a strong hand to get as much money as possible and to keep away the limpers. I know it’s not the strongest hand, but it’s a hand which is worth a 3-4x BB bet on a pretty non tight table with 3 or 4 people. Once again, the flop turned Td, Ad, 4c and he just limped in with Ah 10c. I’ve bet, he called. Called!!!?? On such a board he called with 2pair? Well.. Okay.. Almost for free. Thanks! :P
If you ask me, I’d do a big reraise here to see where I’m standing and to prevent any diamond card or any other higher card which could be used to complete a straight. The turn. The king of diamonds. They checked, I’ve bet. I made a flush. Not the highest one, but in my opinion it was sufficient unless someone has the Ace of diamonds. They called. I was looking like Butthead when both called. I was pretty sure one has a straight or is on a draw, the other has a pair. I felt like I got them so I decided to fire the 3rd bullet. When I was thinking about the royal flush it just appeared. I had to go allin. I still don’t get it why both guys called me..
I wont say my luck returned, but I know how grilled pizza looks and tastes like :)
Until next time my poker friends!
